Born in Long Island, raised in Queens, and marooned in Germany, Moaner T. Lawrence built pumpkins out of his Duplos before he could form complete sentences. Obsessed with everything Halloween, Moaner grew to become an enthusiast for horror literature, video games, films, music, and all other things spooky. In 2011, Moaner became the face of Rue Morgue Magazine’s German branch. By 2014, Moaner was also a regular contributor to Germany’s largest horror magazine, Virus, and ascended to the title of ‘Assistant Editor’ to Escape Artists’ Pseudopod from 2015 to 2018. In addition to a collection of cultural and art articles relating to the genre, Moaner has also published short fiction including “Bad Newes from New England,” a colorful reimagining of the first American Thanksgiving; “The Great American Nightmare,” a Lovecraftian yarn where C’thulhu is inaugurated as the 45th president of the United States of America; and “Beholden,” a short horror sequel to the novel “The Catcher in the Rye” released in commemoration of J.D. Salinger’s 100th birthday on Wattpad.
